Railways approves Kavach 4.0 across 712 route kilometres in Moradabad

Indian Railways has approved ₹170 crore to provide Kavach Version 4.0 across the remaining 712 route kilometres of Northern Railway's Moradabad Division.
Kavach is an indigenous automatic train-protection system designed to help prevent signal-passing incidents, control speed and apply brakes when required to avoid unsafe operating conditions.
Why it matters
The approval takes a safety-critical digital system to corridor scale. The work also connects train protection with the wider modernisation of signalling and operational control across a busy railway division.
