PM-SETU approves Rs 735.70 crore for three ITI clusters

Bhiwadi, Medchal and Meerut have received strategic-investment approval under the industry-led training scheme.

By SCULTRA Services Editorial DeskPublished Updated

The PM-SETU steering committee has approved strategic investment plans for ITI clusters in Rajasthan, Telangana and Uttar Pradesh.

The approvals allocate Rs 241.00 crore to Bhiwadi, Rs 254.30 crore to Medchal and Rs 240.40 crore to Meerut. Sanctioned investment across nine clusters now totals Rs 2,171 crore. Rajasthan has also signed the scheme's first shareholder agreement for the Bhiwadi cluster.

Why it matters

Industry-led ITI investment can affect training capacity, course relevance and the path from publicly supported skilling to employment.

SCULTRA point of view

The programme should be tracked through procurement, course launches, enrolment, completion, verified placement and retention, wages, employer concentration and the governance terms of industry partnerships.

Limitations

Approval and a shareholder agreement do not show completed infrastructure or employment outcomes. Timelines, public-private financing shares and target metrics require the underlying plans.
