PM-AJAY data shows 892 Andhra Pradesh villages declared Adarsh Grams
The ministry says 1,159 villages in the state were selected under the programme's Adarsh Gram component from FY2018-19 onward.
The Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment says 1,159 villages in Andhra Pradesh were selected under the Adarsh Gram component of PM-AJAY from FY2018-19 onward.
Of those villages, the state had declared 892 as Adarsh Grams at the time of the official update.
Why it matters
The programme combines village infrastructure, livelihoods, skills and social-development objectives for Scheduled Caste communities. Its implementation therefore sits across multiple departments and types of public service.

Selection and declaration counts are useful for tracking programme movement, but they are inputs. A stronger assessment needs service coverage, asset functionality, livelihood outcomes, beneficiary access and differences between selected and completed villages.
Limitations
The figures are official status counts. They do not independently verify infrastructure quality, service continuity or socio-economic outcomes for residents.
