Panjab University opens advanced research facility and technology forum
The shared facility houses five analytical instruments, while a new not-for-profit forum will support research, incubation and industry engagement.
Panjab University has opened an advanced instrumentation facility containing an atomic-force microscope, Raman spectrometer, DNA sequencer, flow cytometer and FTIR spectrometer.
The university also launched the Panjab University Tech Innovation Forum as a Section 8 not-for-profit framework for research, incubation and industry engagement.
Why it matters
Shared scientific infrastructure can broaden access to expensive equipment and shorten the path from laboratory research to validated applications, especially when external researchers and startups can use it.
SCULTRA point of view
The success test is utilisation: external access, booking time, pricing, uptime, trained operators, startup participation, research output and technology-transfer activity should be tracked openly.
Limitations
The release provides no investment amount, access policy, operating budget, utilisation baseline or commercialisation target.
