Dust-monitoring cameras are largely unusable at Haryana NCR construction sites
CAQM says most required video links at large construction and demolition projects were non-functional during remote checks.
The Commission for Air Quality Management says June remote checks found most required video-monitoring links at construction and demolition projects of at least 500 square metres were non-functional.
The review covered 213 projects in Panipat, 457 in Sonipat, 168 in Faridabad, 691 in Gurugram North and 484 in Gurugram South. CAQM reported only four functional links in Faridabad, six in Gurugram North and five in Gurugram South. It ordered corrective action and said non-compliant sites could face closure.
Why it matters
When monitoring systems cannot be accessed, regulators cannot reliably verify dust-control practices at large sites, weakening enforcement during poor-air episodes.

The next disclosure should show district-level functional rates, inspection outcomes, remediation time and enforcement follow-through so digital compliance does not become a box-ticking exercise.

The figures are CAQM's reported review results. The Haryana State Pollution Control Board's detailed response, subsequent remediation rates and independent inspection results were not available.
