Corporate Mitra compliance course opens with 2,879 learners
The 12-month programme is intended to build a pool of compliance paraprofessionals for micro, small and medium enterprises.
The first Corporate Mitra course batch has begun with 2,879 registered learners, according to the Ministry of Corporate Affairs.
The initiative, announced in the Union Budget 2026-27, is intended to train paraprofessionals who can help micro, small and medium enterprises manage business and regulatory compliance.
Why it matters
Many smaller businesses need affordable, practical help with recurring compliance work. A trained support layer could reduce avoidable errors while creating a pathway into professional services.

Registration is an input rather than an outcome. The programme should be judged by completion, certification, placement, geographic reach, the quality of supervised work and measurable improvement in the experience of participating MSMEs.
Limitations
The release provides the initial registration count and course structure but no completion, placement, employer-demand, service-quality or MSME outcome data. Those measures will only become available as the first cohort progresses.
