The Ministry of Civil Aviation has launched international hub-and-spoke passenger operations from Ahmedabad, making it the third airport in the programme after Varanasi and Amritsar.
The model is designed to connect domestic feeder journeys with onward international services through coordinated network operations.
Why it matters
A functioning transfer model can widen international access for regional passengers and influence airline network economics, airport utilisation and the competitiveness of Indian connecting hubs.
