Coal India reports 6.7% dispatch growth through August
The company supplied 322.90 million tonnes in the first five months of FY27 and says production began recovering as monsoon disruption eased.
Coal India supplied 322.90 million tonnes from April through August, 6.7% more than in the comparable prior-year period, according to the company figures carried by the Ministry of Coal.
August supply reached 60.60 million tonnes, up 5.5%, while supply to power producers rose 4.5% to 48.46 million tonnes. The ministry also said daily production increased from an average 1.36 million tonnes on 1 to 3 September to about 1.7 million tonnes on 4 September.
Why it matters
Coal availability remains important to electricity reliability, rail logistics and industrial supply. Dispatch, production and stock location need to be read together because a strong shipment number can also reflect inventory drawdown.

One dry-day production rebound is not a trend. A durable operating view should track weekly production and dispatch, mine and power-plant inventories, transport constraints, safety performance and demand at the same time.
