India proposes a BRICS mechanism to track decisions across presidencies
The proposal would assign owners and timetables to summit decisions, alongside reform and maritime-support initiatives.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi has proposed a BRICS Continuity and Implementation Mechanism intended to follow initiatives as the forum's presidency rotates among member countries.
The plan includes a secure repository for decisions, responsible nodal points, timetables and implementation status. Modi also proposed a roadmap built around ten governance reforms and exploration of a Seafarers Emergency Support Network.
Why it matters
A structured record of decisions and accountable owners could make a large multi-country forum more operational and easier to evaluate over time.

The implementation repository is the most testable idea. Its credibility will depend on member adoption, transparent milestones and clear responsibility for delayed commitments.
Limitations
These are proposals in India's opening remarks, not agreed BRICS decisions. No final rules, budget, participation list or implementation deadline was announced.
