New Bengaluru technology centre sets annual training goal of 10,000
The Rs 156 crore facility will support electronics design, prototyping, testing, production and industry-oriented technical training.
The Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises has inaugurated a technology centre on 10 acres at Devanahalli, Bengaluru, with a stated investment of Rs 156 crore.
The facility focuses on electronics-system design and manufacturing and will provide training, design, prototyping, testing and production support. The government expects it to train about 10,000 people each year and has also announced a planned Rs 178 crore centre for Belagavi.
Why it matters
Shared equipment, testing and technical training can give smaller manufacturers access to capabilities that are expensive to build independently.

The centre's value should be tracked through equipment utilisation, course completion, industry placement, MSME projects served and repeat demand for its facilities.
Limitations
The annual trainee figure is an expectation. The release provides no operating baseline, course mix, placement target or independent estimate of economic impact.
