A government backgrounder has traced bamboo enterprise development since non-forest bamboo was removed from restrictive tree-classification rules in 2017.
It describes National Bamboo Mission support for planting material, processing and markets, and cites examples across crafts, food, farming and engineered construction. It attributes about 30 million annual employment man-days and more than 42 lakh square feet of engineered-bamboo structures to government-linked programmes.
